Definition of Contact form on the Web:

A type of web form used to collect information and contact the company that owns the web site. The subject of the contact form can be specific or general in nature. The contact form is provide as an option for those that do not have email, or are using a browser in a situation where standard email applications may not be practical.
Since they are just another form of email communication, they should never be used to advertise or promote a company. To do so is just as bad, if not as common, as using email SPAM. While no laws currently exist on using contact forms as a marketing method, the results have been shown to be even less effective that email spam, and to give the impression that the party using the contact form in this manner is un-professional. Contact forms are rarely provided as a means to market to the company that provides the form, and in cases where they are, the forms are clearly marked that this allowed or expected.
